DIA: FLOR BROMLEY’S HERSTORY

It’s National Library Week April 19-25! On April 22 @ 4:30 pm on the third floor, celebrate Earth Day, Children’s Day and Flor’s new album Herstory!  Flor Bromley is 2026 Grammy and a 2023 Latin Grammy nominee singer/songwriter for families. Originally from Peru, she dedicates her life to creating music for kids that elevates our Latin culture making it her mission to share her bilingual experience with a new generation. She is a professionally trained musical theater actress who uses global rhythms, the power of storytelling, and puppetry to engage audiences of all backgrounds and ages.

Bromley will present a one woman show that she created to highlight the important achievements of women from all over the world. This show is based completely off her latest album Herstory to which she states “is her most personal and ambitious album yet: a musical tribute to incredible women from around the world whose voices deserve to be heard.” Each song tells the story of a trailblazing woman from a different continent, written in the first person to reflect their courage, their culture, and their impact. Produced by the amazing Lucy Kalantari, a 2x GRAMMY winner, this album is a celebration of global empowerment through music.

Watch as Flor transforms herself into these roles through music, song, and storytelling live. She is sure to captivate you with her humor, talent, and effortless transitions between singing and acting in Spanish and English. Some of the significant figures she will portray are prolific Latina author Isabel Allende, young eco-activist Greta Thunberg and astronaut Emily Calandrelli. Don’t miss this interactive, educational and historical presentation! Each family will receive a literacy goody bag to take home. This event is funded by NY State Assemblymember MaryJane Shimsky.
