The Legend Bicentennial

The Legend of Sleepy Hollow has reached its bicentennial anniversary and the Warner Library is celebrating in many ways!


The Sleepy Hollow Lit Fest
on May 18, 2019


Immerse yourself in a lively celebration of literature. This one-day festival will extend across various venues from the Warner Library in Tarrytown to the Hudson Valley Writers Center in Sleepy Hollow. At the library you'll be able to enjoy the following events:



10 AM - Music by Pablo Mayor with ArtsLatino NY Ensemble, accompanied by Librarian Barbara Cohen in a music and story presentation of Grandma's Records by Eric Velasquez.


11 AM - Children's Author Chirs Gabenstein will present "Inside Mr. Lemoncello's Library" 


1 PM - Mira T. Lee Will read from and speak about her novel, Everything Here is Beautiful. Book signing to follow.


2 PM - Alan Sklar will read stories by Jorge Borges.


3 PM -Storyteller Flor Bromley will present a retelling of the book My Name is Celia: the life of Celia Cruz by Monica Brown.

Everybody's Reading "The Legend"
June 11, 2:30 PM to 4 PM


With the Legend's release to the Public Domain, anyone can have free access to Washington Irving's popular tale. So what better time than now to join us for a book group meeting on the Legend of Sleepy Hollow. Meeting will take place June 11 at 2:30 PM at the Warner Library. Copies are available for checkout at the Circulation Desk.
