Bond with Books and More

Tuesdays, 11:30 am

Stay, play, learn and form bonds while engaging in self guided sessions with parents and caregivers in a safe welcoming environment. Explore a variety of books, soft blocks, developmentally appropriate manipulatives, interactive kits and more. For babies who are not yet walking. 

 

Permanezca, juegue, aprende y forme lazos mientras participa en sesiones auto guiadas con los padres y cuidadores en un ambiente seguro y acogedor. Explore una variedad de libros, bloques blandos, manipulados apropiados al desarrollo, kits interactivos y mucho más. Para bebés que no caminan.

Our weekly storytimes are Monday - Friday.   Teddy Bear Storytime is one Thursday a month at 6:30 pm; Saturday Stories are twice monthly at 11:30 am 

 

Each program is age appropriate; please join the program that's just right.

Two Special Events Celebrating Día De Los Niños/Día De Los Libros

April 22 @ 6:30 pm 

**Event #1: April 22 Celebrating Children's Day Travel to India: Spring Festival of Music, Color, and Dance! Enjoy a special musical performance by teacher/musician Amita Ajmera from the India Center of Westchester, while participating in dances, learning about culture and tasting a traditional treat. For families of all ages.

Evento #1: lunes, 22 de Abril @ 6:30 pm ¡Celebra la Primavera! Diviértete en una presentación especial de Amita Ajmera. Participe en bailes, aprenda de la cultura India y saborea meriendas tradicionales. **Event #2:  April 29 @ 6:30 pm 

Author and creator of Canticos on Nick, Susie Jaramillo will read/present  her books, songs, puppets, video shorts and educational apps in a fun and interactive display. Bridging technology, early literacy and diversity through active parent-child engagement.

Refreshments, snacks and activities galore! Fun for families of all ages.

Celebrate the 100th anniversary of Children's Book Week with us! 

We are an official Children's Book Week Event site.

Our events will include:

April 29 Día: Bilingual Author/Book Fiesta! Local Author and creator of the hit show Canticos on Nick Jr. will be here present her books, education apps, live sing-along shorts and more. (event coincides with Children's Day/ Children's Book Day / Día de los Niños/Día de los Libros)
 
April 30-May 5 - Our regularly scheduled storytimes will feature several book based activities centered around reading, writing, language and more in both English and Spanish.

May 18 Sleepy Hollow Lit Feast: 
 
10:00 am Music by Pablo Mayor with the members of the ArtsLatinoNY Ensemble accompanied by librarian Barbara Cohen in a musical reading of Grandma’s Records by Eric Velasquez. For families of all ages.

3:00 pm Storyteller Flor Bromley will present a lively retelling of the book My Name is Celia Cruz by Monica Brown. For all ages.

Teddy Bear Storytime & Family Craft

  One Thursday a month @ 6:30

Wear your pajamas if you like and bring your favorite teddy for stories, rhymes, and songs. Come for storytime and then stay for a related craft for the whole family.

 

Craft Table

    Monthly  @ 3-8 pm

Time to get creative! For children of all ages. Cargivers must remain at the table with children under seven.

 

Book Groups (meet once a month)

Bilingual Buddies Book Group - K-3 and 4-6 graders.

Readers Rule! - grades 3 - 7 

Diverse Verses Book Group for 1-3 graders and 4-6 graders. 

Deweys and Dewdettes Discovery Club for grades 2-4  and 3-6.
