This talk will present new research on two Black residents of the Sleepy Hollow/ Tarrytown area whose stories have been attributed to others. We will share the history of Harry, a man enslaved by Frederick Philipse I, and Mrs. Taylor, the real force behind the donation of the land for Captors Monument in Patriots Park.
