The Lesser Known Presidents of The Gilded Age (Zoom), 3/9 @ 7 PM

The Gilded Age was a period of tremendous economic and industrial growth consolidating massive wealth in the hands of a few as immigration surged, corruption was commonplace, a labor movement was formed, the West was won, and America stood on the precipice of a world superpower.

In this presentation we learn about the little-known, but consequential presidents during the critical era of 1876 to 1897: Rutherford B. Hayes, James Garfield, Chester Arthur, Grover Cleveland, Benjamin Harrison, and Grover Cleveland again! We will discuss their personal stories and rise to power, how they addressed the issues of the day, their political successes and failures, how they shaped the course of the nation, and how are they relevant today.

Presented by Louis L. Picone.
