Friends of the Warner Library

Mission

The Friends of the Warner Library was organized in 1957 to assist the Library Staff and the Library Board of Trustees in promoting the greatest possible development and use of the library and to help make it a vital and dynamic part of the community life of Sleepy Hollow and Tarrytown the communities we serve.

Current Activities and Programs

The Friends focus on enriching the cultural offerings of the library through funding programming for children and adults.  The spring and fall book sales held in October and April are their primary fundraisers.

The Friends sponsor a popular concert series, featuring professional performers some of whom have been nominated for grammy awards and have played with everyone from Miles Davis to Yo-Yo Ma.  The programs run the gamut from classical music to jazz, gamelan and American Roots.  The concert series runs once a month from September to April on weekend afternoons, usually Saturdays at 2:30 pm and are free to the public.

The Friends of the Warner Library also sponsor author visits, poetry and writing workshops, film series, digital education programs among a whole host of other programs.
